These are the tools I use to plan days out and time away. I enjoy exploring cities, finding great places to eat and drink, and finding out about the history behind the architecture.
I also like to find the locations some of my favourite TV camedies and dramas were filmed at.
Below is a mix of resources I use, and information curated to make interesting leisure time.
Pefkos on the Greek Island of Rhodes is my most visited holiday destination - great food and atmosphere and some really wonderful Greek friends made. Check out RhodesPefkos.com
Holidays and Travel
Europe’s leading train and coach app.
TheTrainLine is a one-stop-shop for train and coach travel, every day gathering routes, prices, and travel times from over 270 rail and coach operators in 40 countries, so that everyone can buy tickets quickly and save time, effort, and money.
I regularly use South Western Trains, mainly for leisure, but occassionally for work.
Providing you book well in advance and explore the best pricing options, it's possible to get really good prices to travel from the South coast to London. The quality of service is considerably better then some other rail providers, staff seem friendly, professional and genuinely helpful.
When delays do occur, they are fast to update their Plan My Journey page, which is the link above.
For our past few family trips involving flights we've chosen Easyjet, mainly because of the great service combined with sensible pricing.
easyJet is one of the largest airlines in the world, with 347 aircraft, operating 1,099 routes across 35 countries and 160 airports.
Sky Scanner is like a flight search engine which helps you find the cheapest option by searching all available operators, and giving additional search options.
At the end of the day you clickthough and still pay the flight operator, not Sky Scanner.
Because of the power of their search technology, savings can be immense.
Pefkos is a small resort a couple of miles south of Lindos on the Greek Island of Rhodes.
I've taken family holidays here more than any other place.
The Rhodes Pefkos website has all you need to plan the perfect holiday.
Restaurant I'd recommend include Dama Dama, Lambis and Karma.
I'd also recommend spending an evening or two in Lindos, and taking the Glass Bottom boat trip to Lindos at least once during your holiay.
My favourie food blogger coverng London and the South.
